Frequently Asked Questions

How many guests can each tour accommodate?

We have two Pinzgauers that each hold 10 people in the back and one person riding shotgun in the front, making it a total of 22 people per tour.

Are your tours children friendly?

Yes, children 2 – 6 years old or under 60 pounds should have a booster seat that you will need to provide.

What about safety?

Our motto is “The safety of our guests is our number one priority, and your absolute enjoyment our personal challenge”. This tour is not a hard-core challenging ride, it is basically graveled out trails that people of just about all ages can enjoy. Each person has a lap belt and there are overhead hand grips attached to the roll bars. Inquire before booking your tour if you or anyone in your party has any medical conditions that may affect his/her ability to sit on a semi- bumpy off road ride for several hours.

What if it rains?

Tours go rain or shine! Be sure to dress appropriately for your tour. The Pinzgauers have vinyl tops and sides, but are not heated. We recommend sturdy footwear, layered clothing options, hats and gloves if it’s chilly! Mosquito repellent is something you should have wherever you go in Alaska! Rain ensures that plants live, creeks flow, and can provide some fun muddy off-roading adventure. In regards to weather, we may cancel the tour, sometimes with very little notice, due to heavy rain and or high winds. Our tours go out rain or shine, but if conditions are unsafe we will give you a full refund.

Are advance reservations required?

Reservations are highly recommended, but we will take last minute walk-ins if there is space available. Stop in to the Great Alaskan Tourist Trap at 36511 Seward Highway, Girdwood, Alaska at least one hour prior to the tour. We will make your reservation and send you on to the pick up location at the Alyeska Hotel.
